KUALA LUMPUR: Concert organisers will have to take everything into consideration in finding the best venues, says communications and digital minister Fahmi Fadzil.
He said although the government would not get involved, it had taken note of complaints from ticket buyers for previous concerts.
“Perhaps, at some point, I would like to invite organisers and promoters to discuss why this kind of issues can’t be resolved,” he said when asked about the complaints.
Fahmi spoke to reporters before the “AR Rahman – Secret of Success – Live in Malaysia 2023” concert at Bukit Jalil National Stadium here tonight.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, were also at the Oscar-winning Indian music composer’s concert, together with India’s high commissioner to Malaysia, BN Reddy.
Commenting on the concert, Fahmi said it was a good start for authorities to see how they could improve the regulations on holding concerts.
He said he was briefed on the process by Puspal, the central agency for applications for filming and performance by foreign artistes.
“We need to see what we can do to streamline and speed up the process of issuing permits with the hope of the concerts bringing in more tourists at the same time,” he said.
